Someone, (who I eventually blocked for being an insufferable asshat) accused me of hitting on a model for sex on Deviant Art.
This person responded to a comment I made 3 years ago on a Deviant Art submission and accused me of asking for sex when the comment was nothing of the sort.
I go back and forth trying to reason with the guy but he just wouldn't shut up about how I was asking her for sex so I just blocked him.
Some people just aren't worth trying to reason with.
Seriously fuck this word, it makes no god damn sense and is a pile of crap.
Okay what does tattletale mean?
Well according this: https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/tattletale here's what it means
A person, especially a child, who reveals secrets or informs on others; a telltale.
Well based on that the word is bullshit.
Why? Because existentially it contradicts itself.
I mean if rules are meant to be followed you can't be a tattletale and if rules aren't meant to be followed then they shouldn't even exist! If rules aren't meant to exist (which means they shouldn't even be followed) then how could you be a tattletale? I mean there's no rules which legitimately/illegitimately exist for you to tell people on!
As for revealing secrets, wouldn't that be more like gossiping?
Anyways, if you're not allowed to report others for breaking the rules, essentially they're allowed to break the rules then! You know, because reporting them would be TatTlIng!
Again if you're allowed to break the rules then why even have them? Rules conceptually (not necessarily morally since some rules are unjust) are ALL meant to be followed. Yet tattling is defined as informing on others.
So if I'm not allowed to report on others, to hold them accountable for breaking them, then the rules essentially don't matter/exist. If they don't matter/exist, then you can't tattle on people for them! Nobody is going to care that they broke the rules and that you reported them since they don't care about the rules in the first place?
So this word can't make any sense.
Now don't get me wrong, I disagree with some rules that I feel people should be allowed to break morally such as the war on drugs. NOBODY should report someone for smoking pot or even meth.
However, if they do so anyways I can't call that tattling because that's not part of the definition of the word. The definition just says informing on others when it pertains to that. It DOESN'T say reporting people for breaking stupid and unjust rules.
Also, people tend to use this word to shift blame from the perpetrator to the victim/reporter which is disgusting.
I had a math teacher in 6th grade that said if you tell on someone for pulling your hair you're a tattletale which really pissed me off but I didn't say anything since teachers don't listen to you at that school.
Teachers just want to shame people so they don't even bother them with incidents do deal with even though that's their fucking job.
Anyways, that's what's wrong with the word. It doesn't make any sense plus it's used to shame people with legitimate complaints.
r/wooosh Chastising by idiotsr/wooosh to explain to those that don't know is a meme that originated on reddit but is frequently shown on Youtube as well as other sites is when you type "r/wooosh to someone who has missed a joke You know like offering a logical explanation for what has happened rather than going with the joke answer.
For example:
Guy making joke: I'm Asian! (Stretches eye holes to look Asian.)
Guy logically explaining things: You're not Asian, you're just stretching your eye holes.
Woosher: r/wooosh
Anyways basically when you r/wooosh someone, you're chastising hem for not getting a joke which is why I find it cringy. You're bullying them in sense. Not school bullying or bullying bullying, getting in their face on the internet bullying.
I mean seriously? Chastising someone for not getting a joke? I mean ok they didn't get the joke so fucking what? Just explain it to them then! Also a lot of the times I've been r/woooshed by someone, the jokes weren't even funny. Like there's a joke where you
